DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION
The angel and the Virgin are part of a pair of sculptures depicting the Annunciation and date back to the second decade of the 15th century.
The works come from the Franciscan Church of San Lorenzo, located on a hill just outside the historic center of Asciano.
They represent one of the finest examples of the work of an artist who perfectly interpreted the new Florentine artistic trends, in the Renaissance style.
The life-size polychrome wooden statue of the Angel is 165 cm tall.
The life-size polychrome wooden statue of the Madonna is 160 cm tall.
